                                                                   A tragic death

Chunatians should resuscitate & should not forget that Bangladesh hasnt changed overnight. This comment is a fitting tribute to Jewel who was attacked by hijackers in Chittagong and eventually lost his life last week. Jewel bhai completed his B. Architecture from BUET last year and was an alumnus of Chittagong Government High School and Fouzderhat Cadet College. He hails from Chunati, a prominent village in Lohagara, Chittagong.
Chunatians should resuscitate and not forget the bigger picture. How will we go about channeling this grief into something substantial from the trauma, Jewel bhai's tragic and premature transition from this planet caused us.
We can just hope and pray that it wont happen to someone else tomorrow but the reality is these culprits will be doing this routinely. Its the only avenue they have known which generates their livelihood and the fear of repression is so great that they will attempt to eliminate any threat which stands in their way and loss of life or a possible injury awaits someone else, the country has failed them ... the society has neglected them for years ... our education system has failed to instill in them the moral and ethical values we as muslims cherish and championed for centuries. How do we stop this moral decay? Pessimism is not my cup of tea and i want to usher in hope but the chances of a revival in our moral ethos in bangladesh is virtually non-existent.
